Sometimes I wish I didn't feel everything so hard. Sometimes I wish the logical part of my brain would take over for my heart. But then I remember that absorbing the energy of those around me (whether it is joy or grief) is what fuels my art. I tried to capture this, especially with the line "when I sing, they are my harmony."

We see this emerge throughout history. Some of the best artists suffered. Pain fills the well from which we draw the most nourishing art.
