This track is especially important to me. I had been recently listening to a lot of DJ Shadow, and you may hear the influence of his track, Midnight In a Perfect World. He integrated found sound like no other. While I have a long way to go, I would like to think he'd appreciate my integration of audio from scientific textbooks and lectures into chill music with simple drums.

As for the meaning of the piece, my poem addresses science denial. I've heard arguments about science existing quietly in the background, despite any debates about its validity. I worked that into the line "the equations exist whether we solve them or not." Read by the lovely and talented Lisa Alletson.

Whose complex activity is enough to bewilder the imagination)

Looking at it all from here
From the comfort of this nebula
I see now
That we may indeed be
Too late

We spin
We spin
Into oblivion
Never understanding the math
But here’s the real secret:

The equations exist
Whether we solve them or not

(The persistent determination to discover what truth really is
Irrespective of any preconceived notion of whatever source derived
The determination to think honestly for ourselves
Instead of endeavoring to get our thinking done for us)
